Hugo's On the Hill originally opened back in the 1950s. This one-of-a-kind establishment on the South Hill offers patrons a fun experience they won’t find anywhere else in Spokane. With a remodel in 2009 and owners Chris and Alex Schwartz, and Tyson and Shelayna Skidmore at the helm, they’ve created the recipe for a successful business to play and dine.
The space houses a vintage 16-lane upscale bowling alley, with décor offering a modern feel unlike any other bowling alley in the area. Cosmic-lit lanes, 16-foot projectors playing your requested music videos, a game room with pool, skee ball and arcade games, and to top it all off, a full-service restaurant and bar round out Hugo’s. Be prepared to wine and dine in comfort with the suite-style leather couches. This will be the most luxurious bowling experience you will ever encounter.
The menu offers scratch-made American fare, but this isn’t just any other bowling alley cuisine. Appetizers include coconut prawns, smoked chicken-stuffed mushroom caps and fried ravioli. Entrée items like jambalaya, baseball-cut New York steak and parmesan-crusted Hugo’s halibut are guaranteed to satisfy your hunger and your palate after a game of bowling.
What is bowling without beer? Hugo’s has stepped up its game, with 20 beers on tap to choose from, with choices rotating almost daily. They also offer a seasonal drink menu, drink specials, happy hour every day and all day on Sunday.
Hugo’s also features a game room with four TVs—with a total of 25 throughout the building! They have NFL Sunday ticket and broadcast every NFL game, so whether at the bowling alley, in the restaurant or at the bar, you won’t miss one second. They also have three private rooms available, perfect for big events and parties.
All ages are welcome. Experience the fun and food at Hugo’s Monday through Thursday 11:30am to midnight, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 2am (during football season, they are open Saturday at 9:30am), and Sunday 9:30am to midnight.
